a three-toed sloth and a bag of jilly beans!

Halloween this year was the BEST.

This was the first year that Cooper picked his own costume out of thin air. In the past, we've given him a little direction. "Do you wanna be a fireman or a pumpkin? A football player or a construction worker?"

This year, halfway through an episode of Planet Earth II, he announced that he would like to be a three-toed sloth. A so a three-toed sloth he was :) It made me so happy to make a mask and some little mittens with feather tips for fingernails! He was SO excited to wear it and show all of his aunts and uncles and grandparents on trick-or-treating day.

As for our little Jillybean, this costume came pretty easy. Cooper was so jazzed when he heard what Jilly was going to be for Halloween that he briefly abandoned the sloth idea and declared that he would also like to be a bag of Jillybeans. I was about ready to cease construction on his felt mask when he said, "no wait mama, I would still like to be a sloth." Thank goodness.

Jills looked pretty cute all dressed up with ribbons in her pigtails. I hope to never forget what she looked like running around the street in her costume.

Please tell me that they will never tire of getting their Halloween photos taken in the backyard, holding hands, smiling with their whole faces...

Happy Halloween, everyone!
